FRESH BRAMBLE COCKTAIL
When the hedgerows are bursting with blackberries, this is my favourite cocktail to make. It's autumn in a glass!

Servings 1 cocktail
Ingredients
- small handful fresh blackberries
- 25 ml sugar syrup
- 50 ml gin
- 25 ml fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp creme de mure (optional)
- to serve: ice, lemon zest
Instructions

Combine the blackberries and sugar syrup in the bottom of a cocktail shaker and muddle into a puree.

Add the gin, lemon juice and a handful of ice, then shake until the outside of the cocktail shaker has frosted and is freezing cold.

Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with a few fresh ice cubes. Add the creme de mure (if using) over the top and serve garnished with a twirl of lemon zest.
Recipe Notes
As we are using fresh blackberries here, the creme de mure isn’t essential, but it does add some extra flavour if you have it in the house!
