MARMITE NUTS

MARMITE NUTS

Servings 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 275 g raw mixed nuts
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 egg white
  • 2½ tbsp Marmite
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground garlic
  • 6 thyme sprigs leaves picked

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°c (fan assisted)/350°f/gas 4.
  2. Mix everything together in a bowl, until the nuts are evenly coated.
  3. Spread nuts on a parchment-lined sheet pan in a single layer, then bake for 10 minutes. Toss and return to oven and bake for another 5-10 minutes, until the nuts have hardened.
  4. Remove from oven, stir a few times and let cool completely on trays. Store in a tightly sealed container at room temperature for up to a week.

    What could I substitute for the egg white if I wanted to make these for vegan guests ?

      Thank you that’s very kind – I would use aquafaba (the liquid in a can of chickpeas). Probably about 2 tablespoons.
