"I like to have a martini, two at the very most. After three I'm under the table, after four I'm under my host!" - Dorothy Parker.
Every bartender and martini drinker will use a different recipe or method, but this is how I like mine.
A martini is all in the prep work. So, we start either the morning of, or the night before we want to drink a martini, by popping our serving glass(es) and our bottle of gin in the freezer.
Once your gin is ice cold, combine the gin, vermouth and a good handful of ice in a jug or shaker.
Now, use a long spoon to stir for 30 seconds.
Now, wait for 30 seconds.
Now, stir for 30 seconds.
Now, wait for 30 seconds.
In the last 30 seconds wait, remove your martini glass from the freezer. Stir your martini quickly, one last time, then strain it into your glass. Twist over a strip of lemon zest, or garnish with a large olive, depending on how you feel. Serve immediately and enjoy!
